Our Mission
SELF exists to meet the practical, physical, and emotional needs of vulnerable children through six practical programs — while building the long-term foundations for a hopeful future.
Our work is rooted in Christian values but open in service to every child, regardless of faith, background, or circumstance. We believe love is best shown through consistent, practical action: a meal, a book, a checkup, a friend.
Every program we run traces back to one conviction — a child's dignity is not contingent on their circumstances.
The Six Pillars
Each pillar addresses a different piece of a child's wellbeing — together, they form a complete circle of care.
Daily meals and nutrition support so hunger never stands between a child and their future.
Tuition, supplies, and safe classrooms that open the door to learning.
Mobile clinics and checkups that catch problems early and keep children well.
Consistent, caring adults who walk with children through the hard seasons.
Sports, music, and play — the parts of childhood too often missed.
A vision for what a child's life can become, held onto even in hard circumstances.
"The mission is not complicated. Feed a hungry child. Teach one who cannot read. Sit next to one who is alone. Do it every day. Do it for years. That is the whole thing."
